t’s that time of year again. Break out the heart shaped chocolates, Valentine’s is here!

For some people, it might not have a huge meaning but for others, it’s a special occasion to celebrate their love for their partner. For sure, Valentine’s Day is in the minds of many (and all around).

But before we give you the best tips to have a great Valentine’s, here are some fun facts about the holiday’s origin.

What is Valentine’s?

Valentine’s is a tradition that has been going on for more than a millennia. Valentine’s festival, traditionally celebrated in February, was said to commemorate the anniversary of St. Valentine’s.

Roses have always been a tradition on Valentine’s Day, But why? Why is this flower in particular so special?

It is said that St. Valentine loved roses and offered them to lovers for good luck. However, if you or your partner are not a fan of roses, you can just choose other flowers (maybe lilies or sunflowers) or not offer them at all.

Let’s get down to business: Are you looking for inspiration to step away from the classic “cinema & restaurant” on this special day? Here are some brilliant but lesser-seen alternatives for you to try out.

Photo session

You probably have dozens of photos of yourself (well hundreds, we know!). But were those taken by a professional photographer?

Why not book an experience to capture your love without having to worry about whether the camera is too wobbly or the angle is just right (you will look great anyway!).

Spread the love

An evening of celebrations can also include supporting and giving some of your time to those in need.

Not only will this help support a great cause, but giving something back will also make you feel great inside. Many associations and charities will appreciate your support. Hurry up, they’re waiting for you! 😊

Getaway weekend

Why not use this opportunity to get away from it all? Maybe you already have an ideal location in mind, everything depends on your preferences: the sea, mountains, a foreign city or treehouse – everything is possible!

There are many offers to choose from that also allow you to change the date – just in case your partner has planned something on their side to surprise you.

Amusement park / fair

Exchange a usually quiet evening for thrills and unforgettable moments. From ghost trains to roller coasters, excitement and tousled hair are guaranteed! Combine love and fun with your partner – you will not be disappointed!

Wine and dine

What could be more romantic than a candlelight dinner with your beloved? If you really enjoy cooking, prepare their favourite meal and create a cosy atmosphere. This combination never fails, and you will definitely have a good time in the comfort of your home.

Alternatively, you can also take cooking lessons together, or maybe follow along to your favourite cookbook recipe. It might not taste the best, but you will be sure to have an unforgettable night!

Dance classes

The desire to dance with your partner might be unstoppable, especially on a frenetic rhythm. So, let your passion run wild and perfect your dancing skills, another two-in-one which guarantees a lot of fun for both of you!

Why not find some local salsa classes or maybe you prefer something a bit more upbeat (we won’t judge).
